2015 Chrysler 200-A Model of Safety and Security

The Chrysler 200 has always been known for style and luxury, but the all-new 2015 model also has a lot of safety and security features to brag about.

Using ultrasonic, radar and camera technology, the 2015 Chrysler 200 gives the driver a virtual 360° view of the road. Its segment-exclusive Adaptive Cruise Control-Plus can bring the car to a full stop under certain circumstances, even without driver intervention.

If a collision appears imminent, the Forward Collision Warning-Plus can supply automatic braking and also bring the car to a full stop. LaneSense Departure Warning-Plus stops lane drifting by subtle steering wheel movement meant to alert the driver of drifting and assist with corrective action.

Blind spots are a thing of the past with Blind-spot Monitoring (BSM), which uses dual ultra-wideband radar sensors to aid the driver when changing lanes, passing or being passed. Illuminated icons in the side-view mirrors and audible chimes alert the driver of a vehicle in the car’s blind spot.

Meanwhile, the brake traction-control system (BTCS) helps to keep driving wheels from spinning during acceleration from a stop or during slow speeds by applying individual brakes to the slipping wheel or wheels.

Electronic brake-force distribution cuts down on stopping distances and increases control during braking by regulating braking pressure, front-to-rear. During those rain-soaked trips, Rain brake support occasionally pushes brake pads lightly against brake rotors to keep the rotors dry. Ready Alert Braking actively anticipates situations when a driver may need to make an emergency stop and uses ESC pump to set brake pads against rotors. This decreases the time required for the full brake application.

Drivers never have to worry about those annoying dings from parking with the ParkSense Parallel/Perpendicular Park Assist, which uses ultrasonic sensors to guide drivers into those tight spaces. When backing out of vertical parking spots, Rear Cross Path (RCP) detection warns drivers of lateral traffic via illuminated icons on side-view mirrors and driver-selected audible chime. It turns on automatically whenever the car is placed in reverse.

These are just a sample of the 60 available safety and security features in the new 2015 Chrysler 200 meant to keep driver and passengers safe and secure while looking suave.
