Candy Cane Lane in Edmonton, Alberta is as popular as ever. After starting over 40 years ago Candy Cane Lane has evolved into something that thousands of people flock to each holiday season.
Edmonton’s Candy Cane Lane runs along 148 Street and from 92 Avenue to 100 Avenue. It started off with just a few houses in the Crestwood Community and has evolved into more than 10 city blocks of beautiful decorations and displays of the holiday spirit. All the decorating to of Candy Cane Lane is done on a volunteer basis and no commercial or municipal support is given.
This year the residents of Candy Cane lane have asked that each visitor bring a non-perishable food item for the Edmonton Food Bank and for the children to bring their letters to Santa and drop them off in the specially placed Canada Post Mailbox that is just for North Pole letters.
